Need help identifying the channel

A home owner from Ann Arbor Michigan says:
hi,

We have a single hung vinyl window with tilt and need to replace channel. The channel when measured is 27 inches long. The markings on the side say 26 3 BSI DP

As in one of the picture it shows number 10, am assuming its 10 pounds. Shoe lock seems to be as in the picture and closed cam.

Would 27" Series 795 Channel Balance suit us.

Hello there!

Thank you for reaching out to us. I agree that the S795-27 would be a match if your balance uses a T-lock shoe like the 15-195The number on the pulley mechanism doesn't indicate the weight so you would need to weigh your sash on a scale to determine the correct spring strength option for your replacements. There's a chart that you can refer to under the product description on the S795-27 product page which indicates what option you'll need based on the weight of your sash.

Another important detail to note is that the Series 795 mounts to the top of the window track using a screw. If yours uses a hook, please let us know! We can still help but this would need to be a custom order.

A home owner from Ann Arbor Michigan says:
Awesome, thanks for the response Emily. Will take a look and get back.

Meanwhile, what would the drawback of ordering something thats rated for higher load than what the sash weighs. I assume difficulty in raising and lowering the window right?

That's correct. A stronger option would make the window harder to close.
