Need replacement handle for sliding glass door

Hi. This is a clamp-style lock, but the spacing is 3-15/16" and I can't find that spacing anywhere. What are my options?

Hi Dave. Thanks for your reply. I took a look at the 82-020 handle, but I need a clamp-style lock and that one is a mortise-style lock. Or can I order a clamp-style version? Or is converting to a mortise-style lock easy to do with a slider door?

Ah, I see what you mean. I'm sorry I missed that. No, a mortise-style won't work. The only clamp style handle set we have is our 82-009A, however this has a 4-15/16" hole spacing. You could probably still get this to work, but you'd need to redrill one of your holes. See what you think.

Yep, that's more or less all there is to it. You definitely want to make sure you don't hit the glass, but as long as your new hole is level with the old holes then it should be fine. Keep in mind you only need to drill one hole, either the top or the bottom. You can reuse the other one.

As far as I can tell, I have nearly the same door handle as to what this person originally asked about (clamp-style with 3-15/16" hole spacing). How hard is it to drill new holes in the door to match the 4-15/16" spacing? Is it just a question of measuring correctly and drilling straight and level or are there are other risks of damaging the door?

Guys -- I have the same vintage late 1970s door handle with the 3-15/16 hole spacing. Any chance you've had a replacement part come on the market at this older size? I can only find options at 4 15/16 or 3.0.

Hello! We only have one surface-mount handle set with a 3-15/16" hole spacing. That would be our 82-261B. Look this over and see if you could get this to fit on your door.

If not, then our 82-005 with the 4-15/16" hole spacing remains our best match. Redrilling holes would be necessary.
