Replacement tilt window parts

Quick Learner from Ohio
I have these that seems to have disintegrated from morning/daytime sun. They are triple coil and thinking I have the right parts but also want to make sure that these would work. Thanks!

Hello,

I'd recommend starting by comparing the specifications of the 26-243 and 26-244 tilt latches to an intact part.

As for the coil balance cover, we should be able to help but we would need to see the springs and pivot shoe that they connect to uninstalled. That will help us confirm which covers and accessories would be compatible. Thank you!

Thank you!
Looks like the tilt latches are a match. Although the one measurement is not quite 3/16" but I'm guessing that it should work? Attached photo of the intact tilt latch.

As for the coils, even one that I thought wasn't as bad as what I photographed fell apart. It's about 1.25" wide and almost 5" long. Has 3 coils. Looks like each coil is 4# and 35".

Thanks for getting back to us. I suspect that the 26-243 and 26-244 would be our best replacement options but we are not able to make our exact dimensions from photos. We would need you to write out your exact measurement compared to the 3/16" backset in our diagram to confirm.

As for the coil balance hardware, your pivot shoe resembles the 17/32" thick 15-199. This shoe uses either the (1/2") S160 or (3/8") S165 coil springs. Once you determine the coils that you have, the compatible covers can be found under the related items section of our product pages.

Another question - if the other windows seem to have the same coils but are very difficult to close, is it that the coils are too strong? I have to push down on the windows with great force to get them to close.... Thanks!

That is completely possible. To confirm, I would recommend checking the number stamped on the original coils compared to the weight of the window sash. The coil stamped should be equal to the sash weight. For example, three 4-pound coils on each side as shown in your photos would support a 24-pound sash.
