Need several different parts for Simonton window

Landlord from Wake Forest, NC
Hope you can help with parts for Simonton windows about 20 years old. The clips that hold the cord and spring are broken on multiple windows. I tried to show in the photo.
Thank you

Hello there. I am afraid this old rod balance is no longer made, but we ought to be able to replace it with one of our tilt window channel balances here. To know which, please send us a picture of the shoe or attachment at the bottom of this rod. That should help us identify the right replacement.

Let me know of you need any other info. There are several windows in need of repair. Do you need to know the size? Also they are double hung if that makes a difference. Thank you for your assistance.

Thanks! These photos are a huge help. Looks like the old "crossbow" balance. These can be replaced by our Series 795, but only if the spring diameter is 1/2". That should be the first thing you check, since there are other sizes; if yours is smaller, let me know and we can look into other options.

Otherwise the Series 795 should be perfect. Just note that converting it for use in your window is a little involved. I highly advise watching the video below for detailed, step by step instructions. That should cover everything.

Thank you - the video was extremely helpful. One other question - on the spring diameter, is the measurement inside or outside diameter?

You're welcome! I'm glad it was helpful.

When measuring the spring diameter, you want to measure the outside. What you're trying to determine is whether the new balance is going to fit. If it's 1/2", then the Series 795 will be a great pick.

I received all the replacement parts today and started the installation process. Everything worked great until we went to reinstall the window and found the 26-366 - Vinyl Window Sash Pivot Bar was too short to reach the channel balance shoe. The picture shows the 26-366 next to the original pivot bar and you can see the pin is too short so the window will not stay in the shoe. Is there a different pivot bar that will work with Series 795 Channel Balance?
Thank you.

I see what you mean. That is unfortunate, but I have seen this happen a couple times in the past. I think the issue is that your original pivot bar is a particular older style.

Our part will still work, but it will require a small amount of handiwork. You'll need to adjust it to sit further forward, so that it sticks out from the corner a little more. You would then need to drill new holes in the vinyl to be able to secure it in the new position.

I'm confident that will work, I've seen it done successfully in the few times I've come across this issue. Just note when drilling into the sash to be mindful not to drill too deep; you only need enough to get a screw to engage with the pivot bar.
