Double hung window, brand unknown. 44 in. wide, 29 in. tall. Each sash weighs 32 lbs. Double coils each side, 1/2 inch wide, brass color. No numbers of any sort on coils. House built in 1991. Snapped coils on both sides bottom sash, one shorter one snapped on left top sash. Need 5 coils total. Other 3 coils good. Only type that appears to match tongue is S175, but
I opened the window incorrectly while cleaning a few times, coils broke over the past year. Others in our house good. When I install, does the shorter tongue coil go on the top or bottom of the stack? Or are they both the same size for this window?
Need window coil balances

This looks like the 15-177 Pivot Shoe, which works with Series 152 Coil Balance springs. For a 32 pound window, use (4) of the S152-8 8 pound springs, a pair on either side of the window sash. That'll give you 32 pounds of total support. For coil covers, see the 15-143, 15-144 and 15-145. These pieces 'sandwich' around each coil spring.
Note we recommend replacing all coils in a window at once. When some fail, the others usually aren't far behind. These coil springs have the same length tongues and it doesn't matter how you stack them. Let us know if you have further questions.
