Need help identifying an early to mid 70

I believe you have an old handle used on Tucker patio doors which is no longer available. I would suggest installing a surface mounted type like our 82-005 to your door.

I ordered the replacement suggested but I can't see how it would fit. The little round lever (1" in dia) slides a plate up to lock.

The 82-005 patio handle is a type of universal "surface mounted" lock. You will need to install the new handle by drilling new mounting holes in the door stile and attaching the keeper to the side trim or door jamb. If you're having trouble, you might want to get the help of a professional familiar with patio doors.
