I am attempting to replace 2 balances;
Non tilt window
1/2 inch channel width
aluminum frame of balance is 29 inches long
1 balance has 28C stamped on it, the other has 28E
window pane is 48 1/2 inches wide, 28 inches long
Original window from builder Lennar, house built in 2002
Will also need caps

Hi Frank. See our S380-29 or S385-29. The only difference between these two channel balances is the 'depth' of the bottom nylon shoe. With the Series 380, this depth is 1". For the Series 385, it is 1-3/32". From your photos, I think you're dealing with the S380-29; but compare the dimensions on both product pages with your old balance's shoe to be certain.
Once you know what balance to select, you'll need to pick a stamp option. Your stamp code of 28C conforms to our stamp option of 2830, which is for a window sash in the weight range of 16 through 23 lbs. Let us know if you have any questions.
As far as caps go, do you mean Top Sash Guides? If so, we will need a pictures of your old guide removed from the window. 'Mugshot' pictures of the front and side are usually best.
Thanks for getting back to me. Honestly, if your window weight falls right on 28 lbs, then you could go with either the 2840 or 2850 and be fine. You may want to double-check the sash weight just to be safe; it's best to be precise as possible. If the sash weighs a bit more than 28 lbs, then I would probably go with the 2850 option just to be safe. Really though, if you're confident in your measurement of 28 lbs, you should be fine either way.
