Non-tilt windows

A quick learner from Dallas says:
Hey guys,
I am replacing the spirals on my windows with the Series 400 and the brackets are in bad shape and are not easy to remove. But I think I can break them out and replace them using the 17-012 bracket #32 with some wood and screws attached to the bottom of the window. Have you ever seen anybody do this before?
Is there a better way to replace them?

Thanks,
Randy

Thanks for posting! Your method is certainly feasible, but if you're using the Series 400 spiral balance then I would recommend using the smaller bracket, 17-031.

Also take a look at SWISCO product code 17-026 for a side mount version of a balance bracket for use with Series 400 balances.
