Operator Helps

Quick Learner from brecksville, OH
Hi,
Our window crank doesn't open/close the window. It seems the whole operator is broken. or not! Not sure. The current operator is "Truth". Not sure about its size but the crank handle has a #45054 on it.

I haven't taken it apart yet, I need to remove the window ledge to get at it so before I do, I want to be sure I can do this myself.

Thanks.

Hello! Your original analysis was correct: your whole operator needs to be replaced. What happened was the worm gear stripped out. That would be the "corkscrew" looking piece attached to your handle. That's not technically supposed to come out, but once they do you can't put them back in since they're machine pressed at the factory.

We can help, but I can't quite make out your operator from this photo. Would it be possible to see it removed? If not, can you open the window a little wider so I can get a clearer shot of the arms? I don't necessarily need to see it out (though that would be ideal), I just need to see as much of it as possible. I think I can eyeball it from there. Let me know!

Perfect, this is exactly what I needed to see. My recommendation would be the 39-155 and 39-156 operators. The one in these most recent photos is the 39-155 while the one in your first post is the 39-156. You should be able to reuse your old covers and handles, too, since they seem to be in good condition.

I recommend that you look over our dimensions just to ensure everything lines up. I think they will but you can never be too safe. If yours differs, let me know how and we can get you something better. There are other sizes for this style so I'm sure we'll have something.
