Part doesn't work right

A contractor from Sturgeon Bay WI says:
Hi. I am replacing Weather Shield double hung channel balancers with S751-20. The Weather Shield balancers will not release in the channel and hold the window up. I have replaced them, however the new balancers (S751-20) do the same thing. They stick and will not release to hold up the window.
Any suggestions on how to make it work?

Casey from SWISCO responded:

Hi Darren,

This is a problem that we don't normally come across with the S751. If you're experiencing the same issue with the new balances as the old, then there is a good chance that the balances aren't the problem. I'd recommend starting by cleaning the track of all dirt or debris and lubricate it with silicone spray. If you're still having trouble, let us know and we can go form there. Thank you!
