I removed the two sashes from one of my windows to determine what parts I would need to repair. Window will not stay open. I removed the white plastic part from the spring. How does this part attach to the window?

Thank you for posting! I agree, our 15-104 looks like a good match for your shoe, assuming all the dimensions match up. Unfortunately, we do not carry these spring balances. You see, they are built into the jamb. I recommend contacting a local mill works that still makes wood windows and see if they can make replacement jambs for you.

You would remove the vinyl jamb liner and then slide out the spring with the broken nylon shoe. After that, you'd just install the spring with a new shoe attached in the jamb liner by reversing the process.
