Parts for Windows
Hello,
Thanks for writing in! If the sash is not stopping when you open it, there is a strong likelihood that the channel balances need to be replaced. That said, I'll need to see a photo of the metal channel, how it installs at the top of the window, and any attachments on the top of the channel. I'll also need to know the length of the channel and any stamps/markings on the metal.
Given that your window uses the 15-208 Pivot Lock Shoe and there is a 62-105 Heavy Duty Pointed Hook attached to the balance string, the replacements will need to be custom assemblies. So it will be important to gather all of the requested information.
The pivot bar, which is the metal piece installed to the bottom of the sash, can be replaced with the 26-423. Take a look over the dimensions for the pivot bar and the shoe to confirm that these are the right replacements; you'll need to remove both pieces of hardware to do so.
