"Patriot" Window channel spring and Shoe

Hello, George. My recommendation for this shoe would be our 15-236. This should fit comfortably in your balance as-is. Just note that it's 1-1/4" wide. Yours should be the same size but it can't hurt to triple check.

Another thing to note is that shoes usually break like this when the balance is at the end of its lifespan. The springs may seem fine now but you should expect them to start struggling in the coming years, if not sooner. Just something to keep in mind. You will probably be revisiting these windows before long.

Sure, I feel very confident that you can use our Series 795 channel balance as a replacement. There are just a couple things to note.

Firstly, our balances lack that same indentation at the bottom of the metal channel that the originals have. That won't make too much of a difference in terms of installation but it does mean that the 15-236 is not compatible with our metal channel. I thought I'd mention it just in case.

Secondly, and more importantly, our balances install at the top of the window track using a screw. Some balances of this type use a hook instead. I'm not sure what style yours has, but if you do need the hook at the top then it would have to be custom made for you here in our shop, since it's not a stock configuration. I'd be happy to help you with that should circumstances necessitate it. Just let me know!

Hey, George. That's how our Series 795 is designed, too. I'm talking about specifically the end of the cord where it attaches to the very top of the window jamb track. It usually screws in but sometimes it uses a hook, too.
