Patriot Window replacement parts

Question

Hello,
I have been trying to find a replacement part for our Patriot windows. I
think I need a T lock balance shoe. Attached are photos of our broken
one. Does your 1" T lock balance shoe part # 15-194 correspond with our
window part? Also, is it possible to replace just this part and is there
anything we should know before we try to replace the part in the windows?

Unfortunately, I don't think our 15-194 will work for you. It's a similar part, but the key difference is that groove along the stem of your shoe. I would wager a guess that the metal channel has a corresponding groove, correct?

If so, then you have an older type of balance made back when the manufacturer thought it would be necessary to have that groove in order to remove the sash from the window. In recent years, they determined this feature was no longer necessary, and so began making balances without the groove that work just as well. This new hardware is our Series 795 channel balance. Unfortunately, this means that the new shoes made are incompatible with the old balances, as they lack that groove.

Furthermore, our Series 795 comes with the 15-195 by default. You would also need to get the 15-194 separately and swap it out for the 15-195. Fortunately, it's easy to just pop one off and the other on.
