Pella retractable screen door

Home Owner from Mahwah NJ
I have a 30 year old Pella sliding door with an auto retractable screen door. We are getting a lot of air infiltration and as a minimum the weather striping needs to be replaced. Any thoughts?

Thank you,

Bill

Hello,

We'd be happy to help but we would need to see end profile photos of the original weatherstripping uninstalled to determine if it is something that we can supply. In the meantime, you're welcome to look through our selection here. Thank you!

Here's the profile with measurements. Also there doesn't appear to be any threshold sweep or seal on the bottom of the door. This is also where drafts are coming in.

Thanks for getting back to us. Unfortunately, we do not carry a replacement for the sliding door seal shown in your photos. We also would not be able to provide a door sweep if there was no seal there originally. If you haven't already, I would recommend reaching out to Pella or one of their dealers to determine if the seal that you need is still available. I'm sorry that we won't be able to assist with this repair but please let us know if you have any other hardware questions.

The Pella center service says it doesn't support or stock parts for doors / windows manufactured before 2002. Is it possible that who ever installed the door used some off the shelf weather striping ? The sliding door was mfg in 1993 - 1994 and has a spring closing screen door. Can you recommend a weather striping from that era that could possibly work?

Thank you

Unforutnately, Pella doors only accept manufacturer-specific parts in most cases due to the way they are designed, meaning that it is unlikely that a generic seal would work. Your seal is also larger than anything that we can supply. You could try contacting local mom-and-pop hardware stores that may carry backstock of this old-style Pella seal.
