Pennco balances

A quick learner from Virginia says:
I'm trying to find the proper balances I should be ordering to replace a few faulty pennco ones. It has the marking 33HD on the channel and I've included some of the measurements I was able to get as well if the shoe. Can you tell by the photos what balance and shoe I need? Thanks for your help!

Thanks for posting. It appears you have our Series 770 Channel Balances, with a 62-105 hook attached so that it can connect with a pivot shoe like our 15-105. This is not a stock item of ours, but we can provide it for you via custom order. I just need a little more information to get this moving for you. First off, can you confirm the length of the metal channel? Second, your balance's existing stamp is a little unusual for a Series 770. The stamp tells us how the balances should be calibrated, so it's important to get this right. Thus, can you tell me the exact weight of the window sash? Finally, how many balances do you need? From there I will quote this ASAP for you.

A quick learner from Virginia says:
The 2 windows balances in the upstairs living room measure at about 34 inches and weigh 20 pounds so we'll need four balances and attachments for those. The downstairs windows measure at 28" to the bottom of the metal channel balance and with the shoe included they measure at 29 5/8". These windows weigh 15 pounds. We'll need four balances and attachments for these.

The stamp looks like it says 33HD on the upstairs balance.

Thanks for replying. I just sent you an email with two purchase links enclosed for the following:

  • QTY 2 of the 34" Series 770 balances with the 62-105 attached. These will be stamped 34B, which means the balances are calibrated to support a window sash in the weight range of 16 through 22 pounds.
  • QTY 4 of the 28" balances also with the 62-105 attached. These will be stamped 28B, which means they are calibrated to support a sash in the weight range of 12 through 18 pounds.

If you need the pivot shoe, the 15-105, it is sold separately. Let me know if you have any questions prior to placing this order.
