Pivot Bar
Thanks for writing in again. I'm sorry to hear of your trouble with the 26-336. This is a bit odd, as Simonton made the 26-336 specifically to replace your old pivot bar. I've used it myself to fix up old Simonton setups several times and have never had any issues. Can you go into more detail about why it isn't working? Can you show us a picture of your old pivot shoe just so we can confirm what you have? We'll do our best to find any answer we can from there.
Based on your past discussions, I'm assuming your pivot shoe resembles the 15-192. This entire Simonton balance setup is obsolete--the parts are no longer made. The 26-336 was explicitly made by Simonton to be a replacement for the old pivot bar. Again, I personally haven't had any issue with this. However, I did a deep dive through old cases, and you're not the first customer to report otherwise. Unfortunately, because these parts are no longer manufactured, there's really no other option in terms of direct replacement of the pivot bar.
We do, however, offer a fallback solution for replacing these Simonton coil balance systems. You could convert the entire setup to the 15-259 Pivot Shoe and Series 159 Coil Balances, as well as new pivot bars. This is an involved process and involves replacing all the old coil balance system parts: shoe, springs, and pivot pins alike. But in lieu of the 26-336 working for you, it may be your only option. The video below shows how to do this conversion. Take a look and let us know if you have further questions.
The 26-083 is the pivot bar recommended for this conversion. See the video I posted above for further details on the installation.
