Pivot Lock shoe

Home Owner from Greenwood, IN
I have been replacing broken Pivot pins and discovered that some of the lock shoes are broken. I did not want to take the broken lock shoes out as they are still attached to the coil spring.

1. It looks like your part - Coil Balance Shoe, Slate Blue Product Code: 15-177 is the correct replacement. Would you confirm?

2. If replacing the lock shoe, is it advisable to replace coil as well? Existing coils still seem to function at proper tension.

3. If I need to replace tension coil, how do I determine the proper replacement tension weight?

Thanks for the help.

Hello,

I agree that as long as the dimensions on the 15-177 product page match up to your pivot shoe, this should be the correct replacement based on your photos.

As for the coils, there is no hard rule that you need to replace them as long as they are still functioning properly and supporting the window. If you determine that you do need them down the line, there should be a stamp at the end of the coil once you remove them from the window that indicates the proper strength option for the S152 replacement springs. Thanks for posting!
