Pivot Shoe

Landlord from Canonsburg, PA
I have several old aluminum top/bottom tilt windows with broken pivot shoes. Because the shoes are broken the measurement were hard to determine. From what I can gather I believe the measurements are 9/16" depth, 1 11/64" wide, 2 1/16" high. Not sure if Item# 15-129, 15-173, or a different item# would be a good replacement choice. Can anyone please assist me based on the information and the pictures provided?

Thanks in advanced,
Steve A.

Hi Steve, thanks for writing in. I recommend you take your pivot shoes out of the window in order to get the most accurate measurements. It's difficult to make an identification with the shoe still in the window. The most important dimensions are the width and depth - you don't need to worry about the height.

I searched the part with Pat# 3.055.062. See the attached pdf of the results and you will see that the pivot shoe 15-015 that is recommended has different dims and the pivot core on my shoe was white. Will this part work?

If the dimensions don't match up then it likely will not work, regardless of the patent number. You don't need to worry about the color of the cam though. The width and depth are the important components. I highly recommend you take the pivot shoe out of the window to get accurate dimensions. This way we can ensure you receive the correct replacement part the first time around.
