Pivot bar
Hello,
We'd be happy to look into this for you but we'd need to see an intact pivot bar removed from one of your windows to narrow down your options. If the pivot bars are breaking prematurely, I wonder if there could be damage to the balance hardware or debris in the track causing the sash to be difficult to open and close. If so, that could account for the broken pivot bars due to the additional pressure needed to move the sash.
Here is a picture of pivot bar and pivot shoe that came out of a window that works but the it looks like the pivot shoe has a piece broke which in turn compromise to the pivot bar as you can see in the one picture it's bent a little and the pivot shoe is broke in the inside where the pivot bar sits in it. I would think that the pivot bars would be of stronger material because it doesn't take much to bend and or break one and the same with the metal that sits inside the shoe. It breaks easy Aside from that the design works great. So I guess what I need is the correct pivot shoe and pivot bar to order so that they will work properly. Its just that there are so many similar ones to the ones I need that I don't know the correct ones if that makes any sense. I appreciate your help thank you.
Thanks for getting back to us! You have an old-style pivot shoe that's been discontinued for a while now. The good news is that the 15-177 is a direct replacement that will work with all the old hardware without any adaptations. It is also used with the same Series 152 coil springs.
As for the pivot bar, yours resembles the 26-226. Take a look at the specifications below to confirm it's a match.
