Pivot lock shoe needed

Quick Learner from Virginia
My 10 yr home has all MW windows; double open out vinyl. Problem is that the bottom shoe of the balances have broken/worn with constant use. So I need about six pair of shoes to make the windows work properly again. The series No of the windows is: ULDHSGL. I would imagine they come in pairs for left & right sides.

I have attached three photos that I hope will help you identify the shoe part I need. The first is photo of a good shoe from an adjacent similar window, second is photo of the MW label attached to side of window and the third is photo of window. The outside dimension of the window is 31.625" high by 30.75' wide.

Unfortunately, these shoes are not available. They are an older style that the manufacturer discontinued. The only possible solution we have is replacing the whole setup with our Series 795 channel balance. Keep in mind that this screws in at the top, and the shoe is 1-1/4" wide.

Tom,
Thanks for your info; as this manufacturer went out of business I understand why shoe not made anymore. I'm good with using your series 795 balance, but not sure about your note that it screws in at top. Is this an easy installation or has complete window and frame got to be removed to install balance?

Hey, James. These balances are very easy to install.

The reason I mention the screw tab at the top specifically is because some older balances like yours install with a hook, instead. If that is the case for you, then your balance will need to be custom made.

Tom,
I have attached another photo of the top of the balance, which shows how the cord is attached. Just using a small angled clip with a hole in it that the cord is connected to with a knot. I also found marks on the balances; 30B for the 30'' windows and 30G for the 36''windows. Hope this helps to figure if we can use the Series 795 channel balances.
Many Thanks/
Jim

Hey, Jim. I'm afraid too much of that clip is obscured. I can't tell if it's a hook or a screw tab. The way the knot attaches to the clip isn't all that important in this instance.
