Pivot shoe screw for the 15-046

A quick learner from USA says:
I ordered new pivot shoes (15-046) and spiral balances (S600-35) for some Patriot tilt-out windows in my home. However, I have noticed that some of the shoes have a screw attach on the pivot shoe. I guess this keeps the spiral balance rod from slipping out of the pivot shoe grove. Is this required using the 15-046 pivot shoe? If so, what is the demensions for the screw.

The screw is not necessary, but if you're more comfortable using it then your local hardware store will have it. I believe it is a #6-3/8" truss head screw.
