Plastic piece in top of slider is broken and warped in places.

Question

Because of the above the window is very difficult to get out for cleaning and even more difficult to replace.  Are parts available or can you offer a alternate solution?

Welcome to SWISCO.com. It sounds like you might be referring to a tilt latch, but it's hard to say. Can you find one of these parts that's still in decent shape, remove it from the window, and photograph it? If you send us photos, we will be able to get working on a replacement.
