Plateglass slider won't latch

Home Owner from Fallbrook, CA
My home was built in 1967. The 8' unmarked plateglass slider won't latch. The other windows are all Mayfair. I've replaced the rollers and added a rail cap. The latch and door frame is very worn. Any info would be helpful. David Birchall

Hello,

Unfortunately, your handle is a little too old for us to provide an exact replacement but I think that we can still help. Take a look at our 82-005 surface mounted handle set. The great thing about this handle is that it has a latch built into it, so it doesn't require a mortise lock that you'd normally need in the center of the door to lock it.

The only thing you'd have to look out for is that is the existing distance between your mounting screws is different than the 4-15/16" that our 82-005 has, you may need to drill a new hole in your door to accommodate this. If that's the case, just be very careful not to hit the glass in your door when drilling the new hole. Thank you!
