Please select replacement hardware

Home Owner from Las Cruces, NM

Hi Swisco,

Please forward to help select hardware. The photo shows the length, 30 inches, the terminations and not shown, 30D stamped on housing. Need to confirm an order for two of the proper balance. Recently replaced OEM Pivot shoe balances with SWISCO Series 795 T-Lock shoe balances.

The shoe change didn't present a problem, but

the window runs out of string travel before completely closed.

The original Pivot shoe was a 30D and the SWISCO Series 795 T-Lock shoe was a S795-29.

Thanks,

Tom

I don't think this is our Series 795. This looks more like our Series 770 channel balance. You can probably reuse your old shoe, since it appears to be in good condition.

Thanks Tom,

I think you are correct. My balance is a Series 770. The existing shoes are in good condition.

The 30 inch length and 30D are the other specifications I need.

I would like to order 2 of these balances. Then return one of the previous order.

Should I place the order through you?

regards,

Tom A.

I can't place your order here, but you can order these whenever you wish directly from our site. Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi Tom,

Received the two Series 770 balances. I'm don't remember how the shoes attach.

Can you help me understand how to attach them?

best regards,

Hey, Tom. To attach the Series 770 to the pivot shoe, you want to pull down the terminal clip at the end of the cord and then hook the cord into one of the slots at the top of the shoe. The terminal clip will kind of "anchor" it in place and prevent the cord from retracting back into the pulley. Hopefully that makes sense!

You can probably use needle nose pliers to do this, though I like to use our 75-005 charging tool. This is designed to work with spiral balances, not the Series 770, but I find it functions just as well for this purpose.

Hello Tom,

Still have problem with window not having enough travel to close completely.

The Series 770, 30D appear to match externally. How can the original have the necessary travel and your balance be about 2 inches short?

Let me know what you think and if you need photos. I would have sent some with this correspondence, but couldn't solve how to attach.

best regards,

Tom

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. I'm not sure why our balance has less travel than yours. Assuming they're both 30"  long, they should be the same. There hasn't been any significant change to the design of the Series 770 in a long time.

Would it be possible to mount it a couple inches lower in the track? It'd require drilling the hole, but it'd make up the difference.

Thanks Tom.

I believe this case is closed!
