Pop Out Clip is Missing

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to pose my question - but here goes it.
I am unable to remove the sash and replace the channel balance, as the 'pop-out' clip is missing. What is the best alternative method to keep the channel down as I raise the sash? I have one side free, but still cannot get the left side off and don't want to break anything that isn't already broken.

You've come to the right place! Our 16-002 is a common take out clip but you could potentially use a screw as a short term solution. What you can do is drill a hole near where the old take out clip went and install a screw so that it sticks up just a little. This will function the same as a take out clip. When the balances are replaced, you'd simply remove the screw.
