Pull tab

Home Owner from Japan
I am considering purchasing replacement product,
because the pull tab on the screen attached to the Milgard window glass
broke as shown in the photo.
The tab I have now is made of metal, but there are two types,
plastic Product Code: 70-128 and metal Product Code: 70-018.
Which one is more durable?
Is it possible to install both to my screen?

I have another question about sash cam.
My milgard sinngle hang sash has a sash cam like the one in the photo.
Could you please advise if there is anything you can use as a substitute?

Hello, thank you for posting,

The latches being metal vs. plastic both have their pros and cons. It is really up to personal preference. The metal would be more durable but is subject to rusting while the plastic is not. Does your original screen currently use more than one? We recommend sticking to the original setup style.

For the top sash guide, we do not carry an exact match for this older Milgard style. We recommend reviewing the 18-009 as a possible replacement. You'll note right away that our 18-009 has a top lip that sticks out from the base, but this can be trimmed down with a utility knife. That will give it enough clearance to install in the frame. Just make sure to wear safety gloves if you try this. Compare the overall dimensions and let us know if you have any additional questions!
