Replace patio sliding door handle with locking handle

Home Owner from Redding, CA
I'm looking to put a lock on our downstairs/basement sliding glass door as we can turn it into an AirBnB. The key would be on the outside. The attached pdf has the dimensions as well as I could measure them. Do you have something that would work?
Right now we are renting out the upstairs, but we will be moving into it as our retirement home next year.

Hello,

Your mortise lock resembles our 82-218, whcih is commonly used with handle sets such as the 82-030. With that being said, the 82-030 has 3-15/16" hole spacing that does not match your door's specifications. There are two options in cases like this but both would require making new installation holes in the door. The first would be to make new installation holes in the door to accommodate the 82-030 while being careful not to hit the glass.

The second option would be to use a surface-mounted handle set like the 82-005. It seems like the 4-15/16" installation holes may match your door but you would still need to make new holes in the door frame to accommodate the keeper that comes with this assembly. Keep in mind that the 82-005 has its own locking hook and would bypass the mortise lock in the center of your door entirely. Review the dimensions and related videos to determine which option you'd prefer. Thank you.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I think I will go with the 82-218 and 82-030.
That being said, do I need the 82-030A that has the keyhole?
I want to make sure I order the right one.

We're going up to Redding the end of the month and I'd like to have the part and install it then.
Thanks.

We do offer two keyed versions of the 82-030 handle set, the 82-030A or 82-030B. You'll want to go with the position that will allow you to make new installation holes in the door to accommodate our 3-15/16" hole spacing while still covering the original holes in the door. We can't be sure which would be the better option without being there to test both of them but you are welcome to purchase both handle sets to try if you're having a hard time choosing between them. If so, our return policy can be found here to send back the set that you don't wind up using.
