Replace window channel balance

A home owner from Hercules, CA says:
I would like to replace these window channel balance but am not able to find the SXXX number on the part. The following numbers are there on each part (for each side of the window) (1) 25 9 FT CMC 2 (2) 25 5 DV CMC 2

The length of each side is 26 inches. The width is 1/2 inch.
The hook and nylon thread of one is broken.

Hope you can identify the parts from the pictures uploaded. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hello,

With this combination of attachments, you could have either an S380-26 or S385-26 channel balance. You’ll need to measure as shown below. The Series 380 has a 1" bottom attachment, and the Series 385 has a 1-3/32" attachment. One thing I would like to point out is that one of the balances appears to have had the wings broken off of the top attachment. You may want to check another window in the house to confirm both the top and bottom attachments should have wings.

The 25 5 on the newer balance indicates that you'll also need 2550 spring strength options for your replacement balances, but I'd recommend weighing the window sash to confirm that it falls between the 25 to 28 lbs range for the 2550 strength option.

Thank you and let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
