Replacement Handle/Keyed

Home Owner from Virginia
I have an American Craftsman 70 series sliding door. The handle broke and someone else replaced the handle with one that does not have ability to use a key from the outside. I'm looking for a replacement handle that is keyed.

Thanks for writing in. Can you show us pictures of the handle set in question? We will do our best to help from there. Many thanks.

I can't. Someone else replaced the handle and it's obvious it's not the correct handle.

I am afraid I can't narrow down exactly what you need without seeing the original hardware, or at least seeing the hole pattern on the door or the door's internal mortise lock. This hardware varies so much even when you know the brand, that visual identification is almost always the only reliable way to go. That said, you might be best off seeing if you can adapt a surface-mount handle set like our 82-005 to the door. This handle set has a hole spacing of 4-15/16", so it may well require you drilling new holes to mount it, but because its locking mechanism is built into the handle itself, it can work on a lot of different doors. Take a look and see what you think.
