How are the number of coils determined for recommendation ?

We recommend you check the band of the coil spring for a stamped weight code. If there aren't any, you will need to divide the window sash weight by the total number of springs in the window to determine the proper weights.

So the weight of my sash window is 21.8 lbs , but on the description of the coils it recommends,
"A pair of 11 lb assemblies will carry 21-22.99 lbs, (sold individually). The weight you need should be indicated as a stamp or imprint on your old balance cartridge cover."
What do you believe I should go with, 11lb assemblies or how do I figure what each coil can carry?

With a 21.8-pound sash, I would go with the S140-11 since the sash weight falls within the 21 to 22.99-pound range.
