Home Owner from Canonsburg, PA
Polaris Ultraweld windows were installed in 2006 and need 2 replacement parts. 1st photo is of balance from double hung window, the right side of the window. 2nd photo is of handle from Series 2050 garden window. The photo is of the left side handle, but need the right side handle which broke away from the winding mechanism.

Thanks for posting. I recommend taking out our 15-177 pivot shoe. This is slightly different from your original hardware, however, we have recommended this to other customers and they have worked as perfect replacements.

These shoes are compatible with our Series 152 Coil Balance Shoes. To confirm the spring strength, you'll need to look for the number stamped on the metal coil.

Regarding the operator handle, I recommend starting with our 39-224. Carefully compare it to your original to confirm.

1. My coil balance has 408 marked on the base of the coil. It looks like your Series 171. However, that offers only Balance Stamps of 405, 406 and 407. Do you offer a 408 Balance Stamp?

2. See my latest attached picture. The handle does appear to be a 39-224. You can see at the end of the handle the broken gray piece that attaches the handle to the winding mechanism. What do I need to replace this broken piece and are there instructions for the replacement?

There was once a very thick very thick version of the shoe and coil balance you have which, in the past, have been mistaken for the Series 170 and Series 171 Coil Balances. While this version is no longer made, we may have a suitable replacement that would work for you.

We'll need to start with confirming the width of your coil balance spring. That will let us confirm whether you have this old set or not.

In regard to the handle, that metal piece cannot be replaced by itself. You'd just need to purchase a new handle, part 39-224.
