Replacement Shoes for Window Balances
Hoping you can identify the correct shoe for my windows, all of them are bad.
Also hoping I can return the other Swisco shoes I purchased since I am unable to use them as Ply Gem suggested the wrong parts. Ply Gem even said Swisco might know what part I need better than they do (facepalm).
Thank you for your help!
Gary
Hi Gary. Ah, I see the problem. Your older T-Lock Shoes were designed to accommodate that characteristic groove in the channel balance. Our T-Lock Shoes and Channel Balances are not designed with this groove, and we've been unable to supply them. I'm afraid the best thing to do would be to replace the channel balances themselves. They are our Series 795 Channel Balances. Watch the video below for details. If you choose to do this, you'll want to actually save the 15-195B shoes you bought from us, as the shoes that come with the Series 795 are closed cam (our 15-195), so you'll need to swap them out for the 15-195B. See the second video below for details.
Ok, to confirm:
* You think I can still work with the shoes I already purchased from SWISCO
* But think I need to purchase different channel balances to work with those shoes
* And you think that the combination of the two, will work in my window (even though the new shoe is 1/8" deeper?)
* Is it one shoe/balance per window, or two per windows (pair)?
Our Series 795 actually comes with the shoes you already purchased. All of our balances come pre-assembled and ready to install out of the box. You could theoretically keep the shoes you already bought aside as emergency backup spares, but you can also return them for a refund.
Our shoe is only deceptively deeper. The groove in your shoe makes it skinnier but when all is added up they'll end up being the same thickness.
You always want one balance on each side of the sash without exception.
Awesome, sounds good! We appreciate your business, it means a lot. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
