Replacement Window Balances

Home Owner from Texas
Hi, Hopefully these pics and info help. I'm needing window balances for 2 windows. The place where most everything was purchased through in 2005 when our house was built ( TRI-SUPPLY Beaumont, Tx) Said they think the company was AWT and are no longer in business. The sticker is actually from one of my windows that if fine. The other 2 that I'm needing to fix have no stickers that I can see. All I can see is the #3940 that's stamped on the one balance pictured. Let me know if anything else is needed and I'll get it to you. Also, If you are able to supply them, Also, Do you have a video perhaps on installation? It doesn't look that difficult.

** Window Balance Size - Looks to be 41" on both

Thank You, Jay

Thanks for reaching out to us, Jay. It looks like you need both replacement balances and replacement top sash guides. The balance isn't supposed to shoot up in the frame like that. When that happens, it means the top sash guides broke in some way.

To start, I need you to remove an undamaged version of this balance from the window entirely. I then need to see a clear photo of the top end, bottom end, and the hook or clip at the end of the cord. It's essential to see an undamaged version; if any components are broken off or missing, we can't help.

The same story goes for the top sash guide. I need to see it removed and undamaged. Hopefully you can use the one on the opposite side of the window. When you have it out, show me a photo of it from the front and side. Think of it like a mug shot.

From there, I will do my best to track down the best replacement options on our site.

Ok, I'll see what I can do. And get that to you asap.

Perfect, thank you! Your balance looks like a dead ringer for our Series 395. This comes with a 19-005 top and a 15-001 bottom nylon fitting. As long as those match (and they should) then you'll be good to go.

I'm still not sure about the top sash guide. You'll definitely need to replace that before you put in the balance, or else you'll run into the same issue. The video below will clarify.

Forgot to send this the other day. This looks like what I'm seeing on y'all's site. Just making sure I get the right one.

I'm afraid I still can't determine what you have. It's not possible to ID these when they're installed because all I can see is the top. As mentioned before, we have to see it undamaged and removed, showing it from the front and side like a mug shot. Please let me know if that's possible.

Ahh Yes, That's right. I'll get a better look at it this weekend.

Thanks, Jay
