Replacement Window Coil Balances

I need to replace my existing window balances, I found them on your website. Item described below. My question: is there such thing as a left or right or are they interchangeable? The ones I have now say 8R and 8L which makes me think they may be side specific?

Thanks for reaching out! The S161-08 can be used for left and right handed applications. You'll just need to be sure to compare the dimensions and design of the assembly to ensure that this is the right fit for your repairs. If you are unsure, I'm happy to take a look into it, I'll just need to see photos of the existing assembly.

not exactly sure if mine is S161? Here is a photo of the existing one. One side says 8L and the other side says 8R.

The coils balance cover you have appears closer in style to the 15-087 Coil Housing Pivot; which can be used for left and right handed applications. Be sure to compare the dimensions to confirm that this is the right fit.

You'll need the S180-08 Coil Balance to complete your assemblies.

Also, I did notice that your assembly has a slightly different shape for the cam. That said, you may need to replace your existing pivot bar since it may not be compatible with our shoe. I've tagged a few below for your review.
