Replacement channel balances for Atrium single hung windows

A quick learner from California says:

I have used your web site to identify the channel balances for my Atrium windows.

I believe the correct item is your SWISCO Series 395 option 3240 channel balance.

The sash weighs 21 pounds and option 3230 (18-23 pounds) may work but the number on my old parts is 32-4 which makes me think that option 3240 (23-28 pounds) may be better. The length of the metal channel is 33" and the width is 1/2". The plastic end pieces and their dimensions appear to match up with the Series 395 part.

Can you please take a look at my photos advise me which channel balance and option number is correct?

Thank you,

Ron

Thanks for contacting us. I agree, the S395-33 looks like our best match. As for the option, it's really up to you. Did you find that this balance worked well in your window? Did you ever find that it was too strong? Did the window drift up after you closed it?

If the window worked fine, you should be okay sticking with the 3240 option. If the window would drift up, or otherwise felt too strong, then maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea going with the 3230.
