Replacement coil looks like series 190

Home Owner from Ypsilanti Michigan
Hello, I have a broken coil spring I need to replace but I also need a stronger spring than the original because I had the window panes replaced and the new glass is thicker than the old. Im not sure how much the old sashes wieghed but the heaviest of the new ones are 25lbs. If I'm reading the numbers correctly the s190 series only goes up to 9 lbs...is there a 190 series that will do 12.5? Thanks in advance for your help. Regards, Patrick

Thank you for reaching out to us. We don't have this kind of weight rating for the Series 190, I'm afraid. However, if the window sash is 25 pounds, you can use two S190-640 6-pound springs on each side of the window. This totals 24 pounds of overall support, which should be fine for the window sash since the weights are within a pound of the actual sash weight. Note that you would also need the 15-181 to accommodate the double spring setup.

Please let us know if you have any questions!

Hi Emily, thanks for the reply, I didnt realize one could double up the 190 coils, is there a connector of some sort or does one simply stack them and connect them at the same place on the reciever (or whatever its called)?

Take a look at the photo below as an example. The coil springs attach to the sides of the shoe with screws. For new bushings, see the 15-182. If you need additional screws, you can take the old ones to a local hardware store for them to match up.

Oooh! Ok, one mounts one on each side, got it! I'm  going to make an order as soon as I put together a list. What is typically the delivery time once an order is made?  Thanks again!
