Replacement for old aluminum sliding doors

Question

Handles on ancient aluminum sliding doors are gone, but I would like to replace. Ideally, I'd like to replace with something approximating the originals. Any suggestions? Do you know of any company in the Detroit area that services vintage aluminum sliding doors? I'm also in need of a two screen doors to fit these sliding doors.

Unfortunately, I don't think you're going to find anything like this handle set. This is very, very old and hasn't been made in a long time.

The best option we sell is something like our 82-005. This is a surface mount handle with its own self contained mortise, meaning it doesn't have to interact with anything in the door. That makes it a very versatile replacement for situations like this. The catch is that you'll likely have to drill new installation holes.
