Replacement internal lock and handle set

Question

I purchased the 82-217A and it did not work. but it doesn't fit. It's smaller than I need.

Sorry to hear the 82-217A didn't quite work. See our Return Policy here. Your old style handle is no longer available. I would suggest installing the surface type handle 82-005 handle set. I believe you might need to drill new mounting holes. Take a look at the suggested handle and related parts along with the related information and videos.
