Replacement lock for BF Rich patio door : SWISCO.com

Hi,

I need to replace the lock on a BF Rich patio door. The handle and all hardware is fine. I just need to re-key the lock. Do you have a replacement lock?

Hello,

I suspect that you may be able to use the 82-310 key lock for your repair but I would like to see a straight-on photo of the mortise lock in the center of the door to confirm. Thank you.

Thanks for getting back to us. Your mortise lock resembles the 82-265, which would be compatible with the 82-310 key lock.

Thank you. The 82-310 keylock will fit into your 82-091 handle, the handle which measures the same as the door handle I have?

If your specifications match the 82-091 handle set, then you would use the 82-092 key lock, which is also compatible with the 82-265 mortise lock.

Hi Casey, sorry for all the back and forth but I want to make sure I order the correct replacement key lock.

The mortise lock I have isn't exactly like your 82-265 as I showed on the image I sent. Although the height between the top and bottom screws matches the 11" of the 82-265, the total height is smaller - mine measures 11 9/16" (your 82-265 is 11 3/4")and the width of mine is 10/16" (your 82-265 measures 3/4").

Are you still sure that 82-092 key lock will work with my handle and the mortise lock I have?

We're sorry for the confusion. Let me see if I can clarify. I agree with Casey's original recommendation of the 82-030 and 82-310 key lock since the 82-091 handle set that you were looking at is for a very specific application, while the 82-030 is a more versatile replacement.

I understand that you are concerned about some differences in the dimensions of your mortise lock but since the style is very similar to the 82-265 and you are not ultimately replacing the mortise lock, the 82-310 would be our best replacement option for your repair. You are welcome to try the 82-310 with your original handle and if it doesn't fit for some reason, the next best option would be to replace the entire handle set with the 82-030 and 82-310. Back on 11/3/2022 I replaced the key lock on my BF Rich door and your item 82-310 was the correct key lock replacement. I now have to replace the patio door handle and was about to order your 82-030 (this is what you suggested to replace mine with if replacing the key lock in the original door lock didn't work) however, I don't see that it is a keyed door handle. Could you please confirm the 82-030 is a keyed patio door handle or let me know which handle I should order? All the pictures previously submitted on this thread are the same door handles that I am working with and have to replace. The plastic between the screws on the inside of the door handle on the one patio door cracked and came off.

The 82-030 does not come with a key lock but we do offer the 82-030A keyed handle set with a centered thumb latch. Take a look and let us know if you need anything else.
