Replacement of block and tackle

Quick Learner from Maryville, TN 37803
We're looking to replace block and tackle on several of our Windows. The previous block and tackle was 27 and 1/2 inches tall for an 18 lb window. So I think according to your video I need a 27 inch balance but I want to make sure that I get the proper one. We're also going to have to replace tilt latches as well as the pin at the base of the window that operates the window tilt and attaches it to the balance. I would like to start by ordering a single set for one window confirming that it's the right thing and then I can order more sets for the rest of the windows that need replacing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like you have an old rod style balance. They don't make these anymore, but we've discovered that the modern Series 795 can work with some alterations. It sounds like you already watched our video on the matter, so what you need to do now is just make sure to get all the right measurements. Measure the length of the balance as per the video, weigh the sash on a scale, and above all else make sure that the spring is 1/2" in diameter. If it's different, you need to come back to me before you buy anything.

Regarding the tilt latch, this is also an obsolete part but I think you might be able to use our 26-243 and 26-244, as long as the dimensions match.
