Replacement parts for M&W sash balance, installed in 2000

Can the small part at the end of the unit be replaced? Not sure how to remove the entire upper sash balance. Tried to find this type of balance online, unable to locate. Can a different type be used?

Thanks for writing in. This looks like an old crossbow balance. We don't make these anymore, but they can be replaced by our Series 795 Channel Balance. See the video below.
