Replacement parts for Simonton Single Hung Window

Landlord from Canal Winchester, Ohio
I believe that it is the coil balance that has broken, something snapped inside and seems to be missing one of the circular coils inside. The window will not stay up so I have been looking to fix it.

I agree, you definitely need new coil springs. I just can't determine what you have from this photo. Would it be possible to see a clearer picture of the pivot shoe? That's that square piece of plastic the springs attach to at the bottom. If you remove the sash and show me a photo of the pivot shoe in the track, I should be able to determine what springs you have by relation.

Thank you! That looks like the 15-199 pivot shoe, which means your springs will be either the 1/2" thick Series 160 or the 3/8" thick Series 165. You'll need to measure your spring to confirm the best choice. You'll also need the stamp off the old one to determine the best strength option for your window.
