If you've already tried adjusting the hooks, then you might need a new keeper instead; not an uncommon issue with this mortise lock. See our 82-249. Look it over in comparison to your old keeper and let me know what you think.

I bought the Swisco 82-265 multi point mortise lock recently.
The unit fits in the slot properly and the lock and latch slot in fine. However it seems to be having trouble latching on, and thus the door won't lock.
I compared the old unit via this, and it looks like the claw part on the old doesn't stick as far out, I've tried using the adjustment screws but haven't been able to get it to lock.
The adjustment screws do make a noticeable difference in how far the claws extend, but even with the adjustment screws at the most retracted they're not as retracted as the old one.
Though the old one part of the mechanism that actuates the claws seems broken as the lower claw on the old one won't engage unless I manually pull the claw out while actuating the normal lock mechanism.
