Replacing balancer with no takeout clip

You could buy new take out clips and install them where the old ones used to be. The question is, what modern take out clips can work? The 16-002 is a common option but it's not the only one. Look over our dimensions and see if they're consistent with the holes in your jamb.

If you just want a quick and temporary fix, you could drill a hole for a screw. Keep the screw sticking out a little and it will work in the same capacity as a take out clip. Once the balances are replaced you simply take the screw out.
