Rod and Tackle Window?

Question

Looks like maybe I have the old style rod and tackle type balance. I have at least 3 of these windows which the balance has totally failed. A couple of these photos are from a working window while I was trying to figure out how it works. The piece that connects to the string and slides on the top of the rod has failed, aside from the spring being rusted everything else seems in tact.

Hey there! Thanks for reaching out to us. We can help with this. You have an old-style rod balance as you mentioned. The Series 795 can work to replace it as long as the spring diameter is 1/2". You'll want to measure yours to confirm. The video below will guide you through the process as well.
