Ok trying this again without any special characters.
FYI: My windows are 1000 Millstone series windows.
Subject: S380-29 Balance
1) When I look at your diagram for this balance it shows a shoe width of 1 inch. When I measure my shoe width it is 15/16. Is this close enough or should I be looking at something different?
2) I removed a balance from the window and it has a 28C stamped on it. From reading on your site that seems to mean I need the 2830 model. Is it ok to go with a 2840? Will that allow the window to go up easier? Will that cause any issues?
Thanks
Mark

Thanks, Mark. Yes, in my experience, Millstone 1000 windows used our Series 380 channel balance. I think the depth of the shoe should be good. Yours may be worn down a little from use.
You are also correct in correlating your 28C stamp to our 2830 option. Moving up to 2840 may not be advisable, but it would depend on your sash weight. If the strength of your balance is greater than your sash weight, you will have trouble closing the window. The window may even drift up after being closed. I would recommend weighing your sash just to be 100% sure.
