SASH / BALANCE REPLACEMENT

Hi,
I need to replace (6) balances. The ones I have are caldwells. I listed the numbers stamped on them in hopes that you can help me find replacements. They are: 19 6 AX CMC 7.....I measured the aluminum frame and it was 21"

Hello! Those numbers are just spring codes, they don't tell you exactly what to buy.

Are you positive that your metal channel was 21" long, just the metal? The metal length is the length needed. I would suspect that your length is actually 20", because "19 6" and "1960" balances are usually 20". Double check.

This looks like a Series 385 balance. Check to see if your balance has the 1-3/32" depth dimension in the bottom attachment, shown below. If you have that depth, you can use S385-20 or S385-21, depending on the true length of your metal bar. 1960 is supposed to be your "stamp option," which relates to how strong the balance is.
