Safety Locks and Slider Parts

Question

We need to replace the window safety stop locks, which should be easy. They are plastic and are basically fall apart when touched. More importantly, the tilt shoes are falling apart. Should we just replace the shoes or the entire shaft that guides the window up and down. The shoes are plastic but the guide, not sure what it's called, is metal. Does that need to be replaced? They are hard to move from time to time. The windows are from 1990 and have a name of Newport Builders on them.

Thank you for the detailed information. For you Nite latch stop, measure the rectangle opening. If it is 5/32" wide by 1-1/16" high, you should be able to use our 26-338 sash stop.

Unfortunately the pivot shoe you are showing has been discontinued and replaced with our 15-046. I invite you to have a look at that part. Make sure when reviewing this part, you are comparing your measurements and dimensions to ours.

The shaft you mention is known as a balance, specifically a spiral-type balance. As long as it's working, there's no need to replace it.
