Sash balances

A quick learner from Thompson Ct. says:
I am looking for 10 sets of sash balances (10 left in 10 right if different) approximately 70s vintage. They are a string and spring construction that rides in the vinyl sash guides. They appear to be encased in an aluminum enclosure. The stamping on the aluminum enclosure reads 16XHD. The vinyl sash guides are 37.25 inches in length.

Thanks for posting! Your pivot bar looks similar to our 26-150 cam pivot pair. Look over the dimensions and compare them to your existing hardware to determine if these are the right fit. I am confident these will work for you.

It appears that you have a Series 751 type balance however, I'll need to see the balance removed from the window to determine the type of knife latch shoe needed for your balances. I'll also need to know the stamp from the metal channel of your balance.

For an idea of how to remove these balances from the window, take a look at the video below.

Sending updated photos as requested by your tech support. I intend to replace all 4 pieces in each of 8 windows. (Total 32)

Thanks for the photos. I can confirm that the S751-17 is the correct balance replacement.

Although, I am unable to cross-reference your stamp. I do notice that I requested to see the stamp again, even though you already provided that information, so I do apologize; that was a typo/mistake on my end. The information I intended to request from you was the exact weight of the sash.

Once you have this information, you'll be able to select the stamp option you need for your balance to support the weight of your sash. There is a chart below the product description for the S751-17 channel balances that shows the weight ranges according to weight and stamp.

If your sash weighs anything more than what is on the chart, these will need to be custom/special order balances.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
